To see
La Cite du Vin – this was one of the most incredible and high tech museums you will ever see and it just happens to be all about wine. this museum is a tech lovers and oenophile’s dream. the museum has spared no expense in bringing the world of wine to life. you can easily spend 10 hours in this museum going from one interactive exhibit to another. when you are done and you need a glass of wine with a view head up to to top floor for a view of the Lift bridge and a view of the Garonne river. If you happen to be in Paris do yourself a favor and take the 2 hour train to see the museum. stay the night too and you will be glad that you did. do not miss this special place.
Les Halles De Bacalan – this is a great little food hall that has everything from coffee to croissants, pasta, seafood and meat and it is right across the street from the Bordeaux Wine Museum – La Cite du Vin. if you are in the area this food court is the perfect place to stop for a coffee and a treat, wine and appetizers or lunch and dinner. you can eat at a counter or table or take the food to go. we packed a picnic lunch to take on our train ride back to Paris.
River Shuttle and Transports Bordeaux Metropole – Bus, tram and river shuttle info – there are 5 places to get on and off the shuttle. public transportation is really cheap and easy to use in Bordeaux and it is very efficient.
